Over the past ten years, I've followed my nose on an ever-winding road of creative pursuits - taking me from planning Inaugural events and high profile parties for Washington's elite, to chasing my culinary dreams at the charming Ballymaloe Cookery School in the middle of the fabled Irish countryside. Through it all, I've unearthed a great passion for entertaining and lifestyle design that I love sharing with fellow hostesses and design darlings.
In 2013, I founded a boutique catering and event design company, Strawberry Banke Events, creating and styling unique menus and parties with a focus on innovative hors d'oeuvres and locally sourced ingredients. The business eventually added home decor & styling services to create a full lifestyle studio. After a move to Charleston and a desire to share the knowledge I've gathered over the years, I decided to rebrand into the Strawberry Banke Studio blog as a way to connect, inspire and build a community centered on easy, elegant ways to entertain and perfect the art of fine living.
With a flair for old world charm, traditional entertaining with a twist, and simple, yet inspired recipes, I feel right at home writing, cooking and food styling in my charming Charleston, South Carolina home. My recipes and lifestyle tips are inspired by European influences from my time spent abroad, fueled by the American necessity for high style with simplicity and convenience. I'm grateful to have had my work featured on Style Me Pretty Living, Food & Wine and MyDomaine, with several exciting projects ahead. Thank you for popping by - I hope you enjoy the blog, and feel inspired to entertain, cook and celebrate with confidence, style and grace.

Prepping ahead is the most important aspect to flawless, easy entertaining. Write out your menu, and a day or two before your party, make sure to prep all items that can be made ahead so you can enjoy the evening with minimal prep. Your guests will also have a better time seeing a perfectly relaxed hostess with the mostest!
No time to fuss with complicated cocktails? Greet your guests with a simple, yet sophisticated concoction of bubbly or a dry white wine topped with a touch of Elderflower liqueur (St. Germain is a lovely French favorite). The subtle, flowery sweetness provides a special start to pre-dinner cocktails (and the minimal prep allows you time to get those final
hors d' oeuvres ready!
Hosting a brunch? Make a simple, seasonal frittata instead of made-to-order eggs. The oven will take care of the main dish, so you can be present with your guests (with no pastry crust, it's much easier than a quiche!). Serve with simple dressed greens and a pretty fruit platter. Pick up assorted pastries from the best bakery in town and you'll have an easy, elegant mid-day spread!
